A-Venues

The Castle McCollouch: Crystal Garden

Well, since school started, not much has been going on in the way of planning. Ive been busy with school work and trying to make it till the summer to do any other wedding planning. We did, however, make a trip to the Bridal Festival at the Castle McCollouch. Although is it a very pretty estate, its not where I imagine the dream day to be, and I wont even mention the prices...

No discouragement here, though. There are quite a few other places around that I want to check out soon. One of which is Twelve West Main. They have a very open floorplan, and it is a very different, kind of "edgy" place. (also..the compass in the center of the floor would be awesome for a coastal themed wedding! not that ive picked a theme yet)

Twelve West Main

I also got an email in the other day about a new place close to here. The name caught my attention from the beginning, but once I took a peek at BonaManzee 's website, I really like it! It's secluded and has a ton of property surrounding it. Not to mention, a place for possibly the parents to stay?

(this picture IS a label)

So..Hopefully in the next few weeks, we'll be able to make contact with the owners of these two cool places and set up some kind of tour. We shall see!

in other news, here is the only picture thats floating around the internet with the ring on my finger!

Happy (belated) St. Patrick's Day!

The Ring

Michael did an absolutely wonderful job picking out the ring. It's perfect! and it fits great too. Here are some pictures I took to show it off.

The proposal was unexpected and very well done. First of all, perhaps the most important part, he called my father and asked for his permission. This impressed both me and my dad. I think he earned major respect points for that one :) He knew how much it meant to me to be traditional about it, and he put his nervousness aside and did it, without me even finding out. We were out GeoCaching on New Year's Eve. The cache we were looking for was in the middle of a large wooded area right outside of a local park. When we found the cache, I was excited, as I always am, and I turned to him to ask if we should drop the Geocoin we'd found from the previous cache location. When I turned around, he was on his knee, with the ring in his hand. That's when he asked me to marry him. Of course, I freaked out and cried..and eventually said yes. Or at least something to that effect. The setting was beautiful, in the middle of the woods with nobody but my love around. Absolutely perfect...just like the ring.
